Corinthian Singers 50th Anniversary: 1963 – 2013

ZZ4A075A822013 was the 50th year of the choir’s existence and we have a busy year planned to help celebrate including performances at the Art Gallery of South Australia, a celebratory 50th anniversary concert and our annual Christmas concerts.

February 24th, 2013 – St Mary Magdalene’s Anglican Church, 26 Moore St, Adelaide

Art Gallery Good Friday Performance

March 29th, 2013: 11.00am and 2.00pm – Art Gallery of South Australia, North Terrace, Adelaide
Join the choir as they accompany Bishop Ian George on a tour of art works that examine the meaning of Easter. The Corinthians will be performing a range of works that evoke the spirit of Easter and all that it represents.

Turner Exhibition at The Art Gallery

April 28th  and May 19th, 2013 – Art Gallery of South Australia, North Terrace, Adelaide
The Corinthian Singers will be performing a range of pieces inspired by the nautical and British themes in J. M. W. Turner’s works. The choir will be presenting 30 minute brackets between 12pm and 3.00pm on these days so please pause to listen before or after you enter the exhibition. 50th Anniversary concert

August 25th, 2013 – St John’s Anglican Church, 379 Halifax St, Adelaide at 6.30pm
To help celebrate the choir’s 50th year of existence, guest Music Director Peter Kelsall will be guiding us in presenting a selection of works including Mozart’s Missa Brevis in D and Victoria’s O Quam Gloriosum mass and motet.   In addition to these works we will be premiering a specially written piece by Bruce Stewart (Adelaide composer – many will know his “The Ninth Hour” piece) .  You are invited to help mark the occasion with us.  The concert will be followed by a celebration (including refreshments) in the hall alongside St John’s.

October 6th, 2013: St Peter’s Cathedral, 27 King William Rd, North Adelaide at 7pm
People’s Messiah
December 1st 2013:  St John’s Anglican Church, 379 Halifax Street, Adelaide (time 6.30pm)  We join forces with Voices in the Wilderness to present our annual fundraiser for outreach programs at St John’s Anglican Church.  Bring your score or borrow one at the door and join us!
Tickets: only available at the door.  Cost is $25/$20 concession.

Christmas with Bishop Ian George

December 8th, 2013: The Art Gallery of South Australia, North Terrace, Adelaide (time 2pm).  Join us with Bishop Ian George as he discusses various artworks at The Art Gallery of South Australia. If you have attended his famous Good Friday talks, you know you will be in for a treat!

Sing Hodie!

Join the Corinthians for their annual celebration of Christmas. Combining carols, readings and sublime choral works, these concerts have become an institution in Adelaide.  This year our guest Music Director is Timothy Marks and guest choir is Bella Voce.
December 18th 2013:  St John’s Anglican Church, 379 Halifax Street, Adelaide at 9pm
December 21st 2013:  St Peter’s Cathedral, 27 King William Street, North Adelaide at 9pm.
Tickets:  can be purchased via trybooking or at the door.  Cost $25, $20 concession, group special – 4 tickets for $80.
