The Corinthians are almost finished for the year, and we’re looking forward to an exciting programme in 2010. Our two People’s Messiah’s concerts were a fabulous experience for the choir and audience alike; see the Photos page for a glimpse of the St John’s concert.

Just a reminder that our two Sing Nowell concerts are coming up very soon. The St John’s concert will take place tonight at 9pm, and the St Peter’s Cathedral concert is on Saturday at 9pm. We would be delighted to see you all there; we have some beautiful music that we’d love to share with you. See the post below for booking details.

Christmas Concerts 2009

This year, we are delighted to be presenting an exciting Christmas programme featuring works by Francis Poulenc and Marc-Antoine Charpentier. We will also be leading our traditional People’s Messiah, which promises to be great fun as always! Please join the Corinthian Singers in spreading the joy this Christmas.

Burning Bright: Songs of Love and Longing

We’re very excited about our upcoming concert, which features beautiful settings of five of William Blake’s Songs of Innocence and Experience by renowned Adelaide composer Peter Webb. The poems explore the ‘two contrary states of the human soul’ and are full of vivid, striking imagery, and Peter’s intricate harmonies complement and enrich the language to perfection. We hope very much that you can join us – please see the flyer on the right for more details.

We will also be recording these works during the week after the concert; a CD of this recording will be available in November and you can reserve your copy when you book if you’d like to listen to us more frequently!

We’re looking forward to our programme for 2009 and we hope that you can join us for one or more of these events. Here is a list for your diary or calendar:

Lenten Service. Sunday 29th March, St John’s Anglican Church, Halifax Street, Adelaide. 9am.
Messiah with Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and Graham Abbott. Saturday 4th April, Festival Theatre. Corinthian Singers will join with Philharmonia Choir and Graduate Singers.
Easter at the Art Gallery. Good Friday, 10th April, Radford Auditorium, Art Gallery of South Australia, North Terrace. 1pm. We welcome guest conductor Jill McGregor. Entry will be by donation.
Winter Concerts. Saturday July 4th 12.30pm Coriole Winery Chaffeys Road, McLaren Vale and Sunday July 5th 6.30pm St John’s Church Halifax Street, Adelaide Vaughan Williams’ G Minor Mass.

Good Friday at the Art Gallery

The Corinthian Singers perform in concert at the Gallery of South Australia. The concert will be held in the Radford Auditorium.

Our guest conductor for the concert will be Alan McKie.

No bookings required, simply arrive in time to find a seat.

Prior to, or after our performance, you may wish to join Bishop Ian George for a special tour of the gallery. Depart from the North Terrace entrance at 11am or 2pm. Bookings not required
